Trina Hodgson, Counsellor & Registered Social Worker

Hello and welcome to Healthy Transitions Counselling.

My name is Trina Hodgson (she/her), and I am a counsellor working in Regina, Saskatchewan, on Treaty 4 Territory and in the Homeland of the Métis.

I specialize in supporting people through periods of transition. As a counsellor from a social work background, I am able to provide support to people across different stages of life, with the goal of helping my clients have the best possible quality of life.

I have a wide breadth of experience counselling individuals and families, doing education and training, and working with the health care system to get people the support they need.

My background is in seniors' mental health — having worked with seniors and dementia care in a variety of capacities for more than twenty years — and I did my Masters thesis on addressing burnout and compassion/empathy fatigue for caring professionals. As my counselling practice has progressed, I have also begun to specialize in doing crisis support and working with Indigenous communities experiencing acute or intergenerational trauma and periods of grief.

In my personal life, I am a mom to two school-aged sons and enjoy spending time in my community and volunteering through my church. Spending time with my family and friends is very important to me as my own form of self-care so that I can bring my best self to my work.
